About this puzzle
Airport traffic totals count every passenger who boards or lands, so hub economics matter far more than city size. A mid-sized metro with a dominant carrier can outrank a megacity whose flights are split across three or four fields, and airports that handle almost no domestic flying compete on a different curve entirely. These totals are rounded to the nearest million passengers and are approximate.
